As a brand with admin access, you now have improved flexibility and control when managing API keys for third-party integrations. These enhancements build on the previously introduced expiry settings, adding features such as multiple key support, revocation, and refined expiry logic.
Key Updates
- Multiple API Keys: Each user can now create up to 2 API keys. This makes it easier to manage.
- No Expiry Option Added: You can now create API keys without an expiry date. This option provides flexibility but is not recommended. For better security, it is advised to generate new keys periodically.
- Expiry Calculation Update: Expiry is now based on full calendar days from the key creation date.
- One-Time Key Visibility: API keys are visible only once at the time of generation. They are masked after that and cannot be viewed or copied.
- Updated Key Table UI: View unique key name, masked key values, expiry status, last used date, and revoke options in one place.
- Access Control: Only Admin users can view and manage API settings. Contact TrusTrace Support if access is not visible.
Key Benefits
- Flexible Key Management: Periodically generate new API keys and update your integrations before the existing keys expire to maintain secure and uninterrupted access.
- Improved Expiry Control: Set appropriate expiration periods or use non-expiring keys based on business needs.
- Stronger Security Practices: Masked keys, expiry notifications, and revocation support reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
- Simplified User Experience: The updated UI and expiry handling improve day-to-day management for technical users.
This update gives you secure, scalable, and transparent control over third-party API integrations, helping your team manage access confidently and in line with modern security best practices.
