In Cut-Make-Trim (CMT) workflows, brands often procure components directly from component suppliers and ship them to Tier 1 suppliers. To reflect this business model, suppliers can now declare components as Sourced from Brand directly in Supply Chain Mapping (SCM). This eliminates the need to declare an upstream supplier or facility when the brand is the source of the component.
Key Updates
- Suppliers can now select Sourced from Brand when mapping their supply chain in SCM.
- When selected, supplier or facility details are not required for that node.
- To maintain accuracy, only one node per product category can be marked as Sourced from Brand. This means Tier 1 suppliers do not need to worry about how many component suppliers the brand works with; the system shows them together as a single Sourced from Brand node.
- Brands can now see the linked component supplier network in the SCM tree view whenever components are marked as Sourced from Brand.
Key Benefits
- Accurate Declarations: Prevents duplicate or inconsistent supply chain nodes.
- Greater Transparency: Gives brands a clear, linked view of where they act as the source of components.
- Simplified Process: Reduces supplier effort and support needs through guided SCM mapping.
- Cleaner Data & Stronger Traceability: Improves mapping efficiency and enhances trust in supply chain data.
This enhancement streamlines supplier declarations in cases where materials are sourced directly from the brand. It supports cleaner data, improves mapping efficiency, and strengthens traceability in supply chain representations.
