As a Brand, when a supplier records a transaction, the Customer Facility ID field on a Tier 1 Outbound transaction no longer accepts the supplier's Recording Facility ID. This ensures that POs are reconciled, automated inbound transactions are created in your account, and the chain of custody is maintained.

As a Supplier, when recording a Tier 1 Outbound transaction, the Customer Facility ID field no longer accepts your Recording Facility ID that was used in recording the Production transaction. For example, a Tier 1 supplier has several of its own facilities, FT1, FT2, FT3, FT4, FT5. If FT1 was used as the Recording Facility on a Production transaction, then FT1 cannot be entered as the Customer Facility ID on the corresponding Outbound. This will ensure that POs are reconciled and automated inbounds are created in your brand’s account and the chain of custody is maintained.

For brands where this is enabled, the Customer Facility ID field is further restricted to only the brand's own facility:

  • Single-facility brands: The field is removed entirely. The Outbound is automatically directed to your facility.
  • Multi-facility brands: The field remains, but only lists your own facilities. Entering any other facility, including a supplier's, is rejected with an Invalid facility error.
  • Supplier-to-supplier transfers: Not affected by this change, only the final Outbound to a brand is restricted.

Key Benefits for Brands

  • Reduced Facility Misidentification: Prevents a supplier's own production facility from being mistakenly recorded as the receiving customer facility on an Outbound transaction.
  • Reliable Chain of Custody: Ensures every Outbound that fulfills your PO correctly generates the corresponding Automated Inbound transaction on your own account, keeping PO fulfillment and chain-of-custody data in sync.

Key Benefits for Suppliers

  • Early Error Prevention: Catch an incorrect facility entry at the point of submission, rather than the platform silently accepting it.

This update adds validation to Tier 1 Outbound transactions. A supplier's own recording facility can no longer be reused as the Customer Facility ID. For brands with the additional restriction enabled, the Customer Facility ID must always be the brand's facility.
